I adopted Charlie when I was in 7th grade. She was microscopic when we got her since she wasn't old enough to be spayed but we eventually brought her in. She latched onto me immediately and the rest is history! She is a loving, caring cat, though she's incredibly shy. She doesn't tend to like men either.
We were originally going to name her after the Firefly ship (From the TV show), though eventually landed on Charlie. She's got the tortie additude just like every other one I've had growing up but I love her sooooooo so much. She only likes a few people in this world, and thankfully I'm one of them. She has no tolerance for anyone getting in her personal space!
We believe that she's a Siberian- or at least a Siberian mix. She's got the face shape and everything. She's like if a Maine Coon got hit with a shrink ray.
She is still quite small, at least to me! She's barely 7-8 pounds and she's got tiny itty bitty feet. Given her small size, she has a bit of a hard time facing up against dogs when they want to play- but she manages to hold her own quite well.
She's not fond of other cats. If one even dares look in her general direction she will get very upset. We had a stray male hover around our house and every night we'd hear Charlie yowling hoping to scare him away. I doubt we'd ever be able to get another cat since Charlie seems to be such a one-person cat in this house.
It's hard to put how much I love my little beast into words. She's been with me for the past 8 years and it seems like she's not stopping any time soon. She's middle aged in cat age by now but she's still got all the energy and drive she needs. She is always so happy to see me come home for the weekends and won't leave my side until I have to leave again. She's a great hunter- She's managed to give me over 10 dead mice and shrews and other small rodents that seem to crawl in our basement. (She doesn't eat them though, she tends to get sick afterwards.)
