No Place- A Lot Like Birds
Genre: Post Hardcore / Progressive
7/10
While not as gut wrenching as the previous A Lot Like Birds album, it still brings in the punches. I feel like this album focuses on familial problems much rather than relationship or past ones. A very solid album, though I find myself skipping most songs.
favorite tracks No Nurture, Myth of Lasting Sympathy
No Nurture is a fantastic song. Full of quiet emotion, some of the lyrics hit a bit too close to home. This song mainly focuses on a shitty father. The singer speaks directly to the father figure throughout the song, and I can't help to find myself relating to the lyrics and wishing I was able to speak these out loud.
Myth of Lasting Sympathy is a 'transition' song of sorts. It's a speaking song, with little to no singing involved. It's a cathartic pause to the album, and keeps the feelings within the album continuing on.
least favorite tracks Kuroi Ledge
Kuroi Ledge isn't a bad song, just like last time. I believe this is a solid album, but this song is one that I tend to skip most out of all of them.
It's hard to put my thoughts into words about this album. It's a great album to come after Conversation Piece, but I still can't think that it tops it whatsoever. Conversation Piece had quite a lot more emotion within that resonated with me, but most of these didn't have the same effect.
